Tim James is a former NBA player who is now serving in Iraq. Once he finished his NBA career, he decided to enlist in the Army because he wanted to defend our values and freedoms. He did this with no fanfare and until Dan Le Batard contacted the unit for the interview, they had no idea Tim was a former first round draft pick. Tim had the money and did not have to serve his country. With all the selfish primodonas now in sports, it is a breath of fresh to see stories like this one.
Thank you Tim and I am proud to have worn the same uniform as you do now.

Ran across one of your comments at Patterico’s place, and thought I see what your place looked like.
Glad I did, I had not seen the Tim James story anyplace else. Thanks, and I’m off to post a linky at my home blog, Grouchy Conservative Pundits.
Feel free to stop by for a cup of coffee, you might probably enjoy the regulars there. Although we tend to a bit of grouchiness, we appreciate a poke in the eye with a sharp stick now and again.
